Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy
Responsible sharing of legal research materials and protection of confidential information.
Policy Statement. Jurnal Hukum to-ra encourages research transparency, verification and responsible access to evidence while respecting privacy, professional confidentiality, legal restrictions and intellectual-property rights.
1. Scope of Research Materials
Research materials may include legislation, regulations, court judgments, legal instruments, public records, institutional documents, interview transcripts, survey data, field observations, coding frameworks and supporting analytical files. Publicly accessible legal sources should be cited accurately with sufficient information for retrieval.
2. Data Availability Statement
Authors should explain the accessibility of supporting materials where data availability is relevant to the research design or requested by the editor.
Examples
"The legal sources analyzed are publicly available through the references cited in this article."
"Interview data are not publicly shared because of participant confidentiality and consent restrictions."
"Supporting anonymized data may be requested from the corresponding author, subject to ethical approval and lawful access conditions."
3. Repositories and Documentation
Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to deposit shareable research materials in suitable institutional or disciplinary repositories. Provide stable links, document descriptions, collection methods and relevant access or reuse conditions. Data must not be shared in violation of contractual or third-party rights.
4. Privacy and Restricted Access
Confidential case files, sealed court records, client information, personal identifiers, sensitive interview materials and legally restricted institutional documents must be protected. Authors should use anonymization, aggregation, controlled access or withholding where necessary. Ethical and legal obligations take precedence over requests for open access.
5. Data Citation and Responsible Reuse
Authors and readers must credit original data creators, legal institutions and document sources. Reuse must comply with licenses, consent agreements, confidentiality obligations and relevant legislation. The FAIR principles may guide documentation and discoverability where applicable.
6. Editorial Verification
The Editorial Team may request clarification, lawful access to supporting materials or additional documentation when needed to evaluate findings or investigate reliability concerns. Legitimate confidentiality restrictions do not, by themselves, constitute misconduct.
